Ideas for a Clay Mask

Clay facials can be applied with a brush or by using your fingertips.
Exfoliate, heal, smooth and tone your skin with a clay facial created in your very own home. Different types of clay have different mineral content; depending on the type you use, you can absorb excess oils and cleanse and detoxify your skin. No matter what your skin type, there are several recipe ideas to help you reveal healthy skin.
Honey and Milk Clay Mask

A clay mask idea made from honey and milk is good for balancing skin. Use in winter or dry conditions to hydrate, as well. You will need 2 tsp. French green clay, 1 tsp. honey, and 1 tsp. milk. Mix ingredients together to form a paste. Apply a thick layer to your face and leave for 30 minutes; rinse and pat dry with a towel.

Rosewater Clay Mask

This mask idea is suitable for sensitive skin, and can sooth and tone to reveal beautiful pores. Rosewater shrinks pore appearance and can prevent blackheads, too. You will need 1 oz. white clay, 3 tbsp. rose water, 1 tsp. jojoba oil, 2 drops chamomile essential oil and 2 drops rose essential oil. Mix the clay and rosewater to form a paste, then add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Dampen face and apply the mask. Leave for 15 minutes, rinse with cool water and pat dry with a towel.
Oatmeal Clay Mask
Nurture mature skin with oatmeal and avocado oil in this clay mask idea. This essential oil blend can sooth, calm and refresh mature skin for a brighter appearance. You will need 1 oz. red clay, 2 tsp. finely ground oatmeal, 3 tbsp. rosewater, 1 tsp. avocado oil, 1 drop Frankincense essential oil, 1 drop Neroli essential oil and 1 drop Rose essential oil. Mix the clay and oatmeal together in a bowl. Add rosewater and avocado oil and mix into paste, then add the remaining ingredients. Dampen your face and apply a thick layer. Leave for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water and pat dry with a towel.

Tea Tree Oil Clay Mask
Fight breakouts and acne with a clay mask made with tea tree oil. This mask can improve the appearance of your skin and brighten your face by cleaning away toxins and dirt, plus calm red areas. You will need 1 oz. green clay, 3 tbsp. aloe vera gel, 1 tsp. orange flower water, 2 drops Lavender essential oil, 1 drop orange essential oil and 1 drop tea tree essential oil. Mix the clay and aloe vera in a bowl, then add orange flower water to form a paste. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Dampen your face, apply your mask and leave for 15 minutes. Rinse with warm water and pat dry with a towel.
